World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades give players the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.

Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and also add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for caster builds.

Armour

Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in different ways to improve its defence capabilities.

The basic idea of armour is to shield a person or animal from physical harm or injury in the form of direct physical attack or from various environmental and activity hazards. In the past, armour was primarily made of leather or fabric however later, metal protections were also used particularly in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.

There are many ways to upgrade your armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own degree of upgrades available and more will provide higher levels of protection, but require a higher price in rupees and materials to unlock.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been applied they aren't able to be removed unless you own another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have enough of the required materials to complete the upgrade.

In terms of acquiring the necessary upgrade item components, you'll find them all over Hyrule, including shrines, shops and even enemies. These will generally be marked with an gold circle or blue triangle, and are available in large quantities as you advance through the game. They could appear randomly, however there is a chance that obtaining certain upgrades will trigger a quest which will reward you with more.

It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade varies, it is the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a high-defense boost that can protect you from any kind of attack, except magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for all classes.

Weapons

You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades to create a truly unique weapon. These upgrades can increase the damage or alter the stats of the weapon to suit your particular build. They can also unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon, you'll need an upgrade component ready as well as the item itself. The weapon has to be at least a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons only take one upgrade.

There are weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the globe and from enemies or bought from a merchant. Upgrade components are a mix of ingredients that you can put into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and other items to earn an attribute bonus. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.

The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used for enhancing the stats of a base weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. They can be obtained from enemies who drop them in the open world, purchased from certain merchants, or obtained from combat.

Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon and an upgrade.

Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then upgrade those that you won't replace soon. If you're planning to play an asymmetrical build, for example, upgrade your weapon, then your chest and shoulders followed by your hands and feet. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some products may be superior to others depending on your playstyle. Armour is no different, with some Reforges being better than others.

Magic Items

A character can only upgrade one magic item upgrader mod. If an upgrade project has been canceled, no further upgrades will be planned for the item. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but can have additional benefits.

A magical item upgrading is an item with special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they could also be armors, shields and cloaks, as well as potions. They could also be rings, scrolls or other items. Certain of these items can be made sentient.

Most magical items can be upgraded to be infused with additional abilities. This can make them more useful to players or aid them to overcome a difficult situation. A weapon infused with an ingredient that is unique could offer, for instance, an extra level of damage to a particular kind of enemy. This is particularly useful for characters who have reached a level where they are likely to face a single kind of monster over and over again in dungeons.

A ring that is infused can grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing or slashing damages from non-magical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is particularly beneficial for combatants who are melee or any person who wishes to stay clear of buying a shield.

Certain items with enchanted properties have special powers which allow the character to cast spells in addition to the ones on the list of spells for their class. This can be useful for characters that have difficulties maintaining their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points expended.

Other enchanted objects might permit the character's appearance to change, or they could even create a new appearance. These can be particularly useful for those who have to leave their home, or are in a place that they aren't welcome. An item that is magical can grant them an invisibility effect, or make them invisible to all except a chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are products that do not fall under the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and offer various capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor they are not a single utility Best item upgrade that will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items have an effect that a player can activate by using them however, some come with additional capabilities that activate when the user presses the button or activates the ability.

The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while moving and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. A variety of utilitarian items can be quickly manufactured in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.

Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the items available in their regular inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded to make them more effective.

The majority of utility items boost a specific combat attribute or give the player a sort of advantage in navigation. For instance, sharpening stones created by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman boost Concentration and Healing Power. Other items of utility can be used by players to increase Damage or Condition Damage.

All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one useful item level upgrade at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot becomes available by acquiring certain types of armor or completing engineering research or other projects in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade can be placed in the main slot for grenades.
